The My Lai massacre was one of the most horrific incidents of violence committed against unarmed civilians during the Vietnam War. A company of American soldiers brutally killed most of the people—women, children and old men—in the hamlet of My Lai, Son My village on March 16, 1968. More than 500 people were slaughtered in the My Lai massacre, including young girls and women who were raped and mutilated before being killed. U.S. Army officers covered up the carnage for a year before it was reported in the American press, sparking a firestorm of international outrage. The brutality of the My Lai killings and the official cover-up fueled anti-war sentiment and further divided the United States over the Vietnam War.

We meet you up at 8.30am at your hotel in Hoi An or in Da Nang at 8.30am then head south to Quang Ngai for My Lai masscre site. Stop enroute to visit the Artillery Hill at Chu Lai Combat Base. Walk up to this fire support base and you can overlook Chu Lai combat base.
Upon arriving in My Lai, you will visit the Memorial site museum, see displays recounting what occurred, and walk on the ground where the murder happened. Then, drive deeper in to the village, stroll around the village, put flowers on some mass graves to show the tribute to the victims and interact with the locals.
We are due to retun to Hoi An or Da Nang at about 4.00pm.
